Who can become member of EUD and what is its structure?
There are six membership categories:
- Full Members
- Affiliated Members
- Associate Members
- Sponsoring Members
- Honorary Members
- Individual Members
Full membership of EUD is open to the National Associations of the Deaf that are active in the EU member states. Affiliated membership is open to non-EU National Deaf Associations which otherwise meet the criteria for Full membership. Associate membership is open to any European organisation, which does not meet the criteria for Full or Affiliated membership, but desires to support the aims of EUD. Sponsoring members are organisations which wish to support EUD financially. Individual membership is open to anyone living in the European Union.
The management of EUD is in the hands of the Board of EUD, elected every four years by and accountable to the EUD General Assembly. The Board consists of a President and 4 Board members. The EUD General Assembly meets every year.
EUD has based its headquarters in Belgium, to be close to the heart of the EU and its institutions. The office is run by a director and an administrator who work closely together.
